I was inspired by 2023’s theme, black resistance, to create a collaborative colouring bulletin board display and coloring pages celebrating important figures in the history of black resistance.\u00a0They feature famous and important abolitionists and civil rights leaders from 1830 to now. Inspired by iconic photos of civil rights protests, the people are linking arms in front of protest signs of each era.<\/p>\n

I have made posters, collaborative colouring displays and colouring pages that feature\u00a0famous black artists like Jean Michel Basquiat, Kara Walker, Jacob Lawrence, Faith Ringgold, Kehinde Wiley, Alma Thomas, William H. Johnson, Lois Mailou Jones, Amy Sherald and more.<\/p>\n
